Cairo, Egypt – Abyan Youth Foundation organized a special honorary dinner on Saturday evening to celebrate the remarkable achievement of the young geniuses from Al-Nahda Private Model Schools, who represented Yemen in the International Mental Arithmetic Championship held in Cairo, Egypt. The Yemeni students secured top positions in the competition, outperforming contestants from several Arab countries.
During the ceremony, the Executive Director of Abyan Youth Foundation, Mr. Ahmed Al-Haidari, expressed his pride in the students’ outstanding accomplishments. He praised their role in elevating the name of Abyan and Yemen in international forums. Al-Haidari reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to supporting exceptional talents and commended the efforts of Al-Nahda Schools, under the leadership of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Hamza, in providing a model educational environment despite existing challenges.
For his part, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Hamza, Principal of Al-Nahda Schools and Head of the Yemeni Delegation, extended his gratitude and appreciation to Abyan Youth Foundation for honoring the students. He emphasized that this achievement is a source of pride for all and reflects the excellence that Al-Nahda Schools have achieved in the education sector.
Additionally, Mr. Ahmed Al-Haidari checked on the health condition of human rights advocate and journalist Mr. Faisal Al-Saeedi, who suffered a health setback while covering the championship. He conveyed the best wishes of the foundation’s leadership and management for his speedy recovery.
The event was attended by several distinguished figures, including Ms. Manal Al-Yazidi, Mental Arithmetic Trainer; Mr. Mohsen Ahmed Ali, Delegation Coordinator; and Ms. Maria Al-Yafei, Delegation Supervisor, along with the participating students and delegation members. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of symbolic gifts to the delegation as a token of appreciation for the outstanding academic performance demonstrated by Al-Nahda Schools and their administration.
